Provide an overview/ description of your industry.  Include reasons why it’s a great industry to start a business in today. 

Home cleaning is a multi-billion-dollar industry that provides enormous relief for families. People are strapped for time more than ever and house cleaning does much of the heavy lifting. In other words, the demand for home cleaning services remains high.

How has your industry changed in the last 10 years?  20 years?

In the last 20 years more and more people have seen the value in using a professional house cleaning service. The demand continues to increase for operations that make the house cleaning experience run smoothly. Fewer people want to clean their own homes and more people are growing up without the understanding of how to clean their own home.   

What trends do you see in your industry over the next 5 years?  Next 10 years?

Technology will continue to be a cornerstone of the cleaning industry. Consumers are realizing that having a well trained, friendly, recurring, and caring person in their home is more important than ever. House cleaning the MaidPro way is about long lasting relationships with a company that nurtures its employees.

What is the biggest concern about your industry that a franchisee candidate should be aware of and investigate?

Franchisees need to know that much of our industry is about staffing. It's all about building culture at the local level. A deep patience for people is required and a passion for customer service. When choosing a franchise, go with one that supports you by continually investing in systems and tools.

Why do you think your company stands out in the industry?

We love building the most effective marketing and technology tools for our franchises. We are committed to continuously improving.

What makes your franchise/ business opportunity more attractive than your competitor’s?

Our franchisees enjoy one another.  Very close support bonds exist so that our franchises feel like they are each a part of our big business family. There is genuine and engaged collaboration among franchisees.

Describe the ideal candidate.  Do you think your requirements are any different than your competitor’s?

Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion to be a business owner.  Our franchisees have a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. They need to care deeply about how they communicate and manage people. Our awarding process has numerous steps that look out for the best interest of our franchises.

What’s the strongest skill you require in a candidate?  

The strongest skill we look for is having common sense when it comes to business.   

Describe the working environment of your franchisees.  Is your environment typical of other companies in your industry?

Our franchises have a physical location for their businesses. These are typically visible locations that are in the community of the franchisee. The work allows for portability and flexibility, but with an office base. Franchises are able to have a location that brings in clients and that is easy to find for employees. The franchisee has wonderful, flexible lifestyle.

What advice would you give someone interested in buying a franchise in your industry?  

Make sure you do your research and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Reach out to franchisors directly or other franchisees and ask about their experiences running the franchise. 

How much experience in this industry should a franchisee candidate have should they consider buying a franchise in your industry? 

Our franchises don't need know how to clean or come from the cleaning industry. We have our very own Chief Cleaning Officer within our company to help our franchisees learn all the systems around cleaning. They do need to have the ability to manage and motivate people.
