John Lockett retired from the United States Air Force and Mississippi Air National Guard with over 20 years as an air traffic control officer. Lockett found his next career in barbecue with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. On Thursday, November 20 at 11 a.m., Lockett will open his third location in Daphne. To celebrate, Lockett is hosting a three-day grand opening celebration where the first 50 dine-in guests receive gift cards worth up to $50.
“Dickey’s provided me an opportunity to make the transition from military to business owner and I’m grateful to Mr. Dickey and his family for providing such a great product and business opportunity,” said multi-unit owner, John Lockett. “I’ve received several calls already to see if Dickey’s is open, so there seems to be a lot of anticipation for our opening — I can’t wait to put smiles on some hungry faces!”
