How has your industry changed in the last
10 years? 20 years?
The fitness industry has seen an amazing transformation over the
last 30 years. Coming off of the
aerobics craze of the 1980’s, personal training grew in popularity in the
1990’s. Group training then took hold in the early 2000’s, and outdoor boot
camps became all the rage in the late 2000’s.
Fit Body Boot Camp is the evolution of the fitness business model with
our indoor boot camps that facilitate group personal training.
What trends do you see in your industry
over the next 5 years? Next 10 years?
We will continue to see growth in training techniques and
programs. Nutrition will have a more
important role in the fitness industry.
Group personal training will continue to be the model because people
like and want to work out with others.
What is the biggest concern about your
industry that a franchisee candidate should be aware of and investigate?
As with growth, you will see increase competition. Smaller fitness start-ups will emerge. Larger big box companies might enter the
group personal training industry. And with that, you will see the potential for
price competition.
That said, Fit Body Boot Camp continues to be focused on
leveraging our expertise in how to deliver and maintaining the "wow" factor for
our end clients, while also continue to develop marketing programs, engaging
strategic partnerships and initiate cross-promotions programs with brands that
further differentiate Fit Body Boot Camp from our competitors.
Why do you think your company stands out in
the industry?
We’ve built a brand and business model that’s leveraged the 15
years of industry experience of our founder, Bedros Keuilian. We continue to innovate when it comes to
sales and marketing, and fitness programs, and have a business model, that is
supported by a robust menu of done-for-you marketing, operations, and
technology services. Owners get all of
this with a one of the lowest franchise entry fees and a flat monthly franchise
fee.
What makes your franchise/ business
opportunity more attractive than your competitor’s?
We’ve tested our business model and its components in over 290
boot camps worldwide before becoming a franchisor. We’ve been able to test and adjust various
features to ensure that the business model is found and can be successfully
followed by people from all walks of life – that includes former school
teachers, engineers, nannies, personal trainers, mortgage brokers, marketing
executives, and even former boot camp clients.
We continually evolve and refine our business to ensure that our owners
are always at the forefront of innovation while also surrounding them with a
core group of strategic partnerships that provide additional value to their
business.
Describe the ideal candidate. Do you think your requirements are any
different than your competitor’s?
We are seeking franchise owners who have a dynamic personality,
have a passion to help others and who have an interest in health and fitness. It’s
important that franchise owners can follow directions as components of our
business model are similar to a "paint-by-numbers" program so following
directions is key.
What’s the strongest skill you require in a
candidate?
Must be able to follow directions.
Describe the working environment of your
franchisees (indoors, home office, mobile, etc). Is your environment typical of other
companies in your industry?
We are an indoor boot camp so franchisees will be required to
work indoors in their own Fit Body Boot Camp facility. Most of our boot camp competitors are
outdoors.
Why has you’re your company been
successful?
We’ve been successful because of the vision and hands-on leadership
of our founder, and because of our turn-key business model that has been tested
and proven.
What advice would you give someone
interested in buying a franchise in your industry?
Make sure that the founders/management team of the franchise has
expertise in running and operating a gym, and that they have all of the
components of starting and operating a boot camp business addressed, which
include fitness programming, operations, sales and marketing, and technology.
How much experience in this industry should
a franchisee candidate have should they consider buying a franchise in your
industry?
Because our business is a turn-key business that has many
components that are done-for-you, coupled with Fit Body Boot Camp University
that provides classroom and hands-on education, we have successful owners who
did not have any industry experience.
